Good progress is being made on the construction of The Hub which will be opening at Foulston Park in February/March 2025. The exact date will be announced soon.
Argyle Community Trust, the official charitable partner of Plymouth Argyle Football Club will manage The Hub. The Trust has a proud and successful history of managing and delivering community facilities and provisions, including currently operating Manadon Sports and Community Hub in the north of the city, along with Central Park Community Sports Hub and Sherford Sports Hub.
The previous leisure centre is being transformed into a thriving new Community Hub, designed to provide access, support, and equipment to reduce health inequalities, promote wellbeing, and become a beacon for local community activity provision.
The Hub will deliver an exciting mix of facilities including:
• A soft play zone, with a toddler area, a 3-storey junior play frame, a mini penalty shootout area, and access to food and drink.
• A bright café and lounge area, offering a selection of hot and cold food and drink, catering to all tastes and lifestyles.
• A dedicated health hub, providing access to physical and mental health services.
• An esports zone with 20 stations, equipped with the latest high spec gaming technology.
• A dedicated youth zone, offering a safe and engaging space for young people.
• A new gym space, equipped with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a functional training zone, free weights area, cardio zone, resistance equipment, and private PT space.
• Four multi-use rooms, with capacity to host up to 35 people and equipped with presentation facilities. Perfect for meetings, training, workshops.
• Activities hall, available for a range of uses and groups such as sports clubs, fitness classes, and community events and activities.
Details of how you can sign up for memberships and the opening times will be available in early 2025. In the meantime, you can register for more information at the bottom of this page or click here.
Full details including pricing of our memberships and services will be available in early 2025.
You will not require a membership to enter the hub, and the café will be open to the public. If you wish to book to use the soft play, hire a space, or attend a group exercise class then you will need to create a FREE membership account before making a booking. To become a gym member, a paid membership is required.
The wider Foulston Park will continue to be under construction in 2025 including when The Hub is open. Whilst there will be contractors on site these will be within a secure part of the site, ensuring that users will be able to park and use The Hub. More information in 2025 will be provided on the other facilities and when they will be available to access.
Whilst there are some restrictions on parking due to the wider development there is sufficient parking based with the main car park of the site for people to use and access the hub.
Our construction team has developed a phasing approach that ensures a minimum of 70 spaces are maintained at all times, with at least 50 of these ringfenced for community users. We do expect pressures during the times of PARFC match days and other forms of transport may be best to consider during these times. A new arrangement for the use of Stonehouse Creek as a pay and display car park during weekends will assist with this further.
