Project 35
The café will provide the perfect location for further support for Project 35, Argyle's social impact initiative in partnership with Ginsters.
Project 35 aims to tackle food poverty in Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall through a campaign of fundraising, awareness raising, social outreach, food donations, education, and charity support. The Project's titular number, 35, represents the percentage of children in Plymouth reported to be living in poverty in some wards of our city, according to the most recent (2019) pre-pandemic data.
After reaching 100k in meal donations last year, the café will play a vital role in helping to achieve the next milestone of donating 250k meals to those in need.
Key features in the new cafe:
- A year-round food donation point – The café will act as a collection destination of items of in-date, non-perishable food items and sanitary products to replenish the Manadon Food Larder and wider food bank network to support those most in need.
- Initiatives and fundraisers – various initiatives will run across the year to support those most vulnerable.
- Information and update stations – the café will be a valuable resource for informing the community of upcoming Project 35 events.

Pay It Forward Scheme
Our Pay It Forward scheme gives you the opportunity to share a little kindness.
How it works: When you make a purchase, you have the option to “pay it forward” by buying an extra coffee, snack, or meal. This contribution is then held behind the counter to support someone coming into the café who may be in need – ensuring that a tight budget is never a barrier to a friendly chat and a nutritious bite to eat. Whether it’s a coffee for a veteran or a hot meal for a local family, your generosity helps keep our community nourished and connected. To get involved or find out more, just ask our cafe team on your next visit.

Licensed Bar
In the Bright Suite, you will find a large multi-purpose space that can facilitate up to 100 people. Equipped with two large screens, an audio speaker system, and furnished with tables and chairs this is the perfect space for social events, corporate meetings, group activities, exercise classes, and private occasions. The room includes access to a licensed bar if required.
